MBCC's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is the College's online learning platform, powered by Moodle. Through the VLE, students can access course materials, assignments, quizzes, grades, and announcements, while lecturers can manage course content and student learning activities.
The VLE is integrated with MyMBCC (mymbcc.edu.jm), the College's digital hub for academic and administrative services. Single Sign-On (SSO) allows users to move seamlessly between MyMBCC and the VLE without having to sign in multiple times.
Accessing the VLE
Option 1: Direct Access
- Open your web browser.
- Go to https://vle.mymbcc.edu.jm.
- Sign in using your MBCC account if prompted.
Option 2: Through MyMBCC
- Log in to https://mymbcc.edu.jm.
- Navigate to Training → My Courses.
- Select the MBCC's VLE icon.
Course Assignment and Enrollment
The VLE is integrated with iSIMS.
- Your VLE account is automatically created the first time you access the platform.
- Each time a lecturer signs in, the system verifies teaching assignments in iSIMS and automatically enrolls lecturers into the appropriate courses.
- Likewise, student enrollments are synchronized automatically based on semester registrations. Please encourage students to register early to gain access to content on VLE.
Important: The course must first appear on your schedule in iSIMS for the current semester before it becomes available in the VLE. To address this issue, contact the Timetabling team or your HOD.
Managing Courses
To support consistency across the institution, only one VLE course container is created for each course.
As a result:
- All lecturers assigned to the same course share a single VLE course.
- Lecturers should collaborate when organizing learning materials and activities.
- Students are automatically grouped according to institutional data.
- Additional custom groups may be created when necessary.
- Activities, assignments, and resources can be restricted to specific groups or classes.
This approach provides students with a consistent learning experience while supporting collaboration among teaching staff.
